I'M PREGNANT!!!

My due date is January 30th! We are so excited! SO I apoligize but I won't be posting much and I am probably going to close my etsy account for the time being. There are too many things going on and it's hard to keep up. I have to take especially good care of myself right now because I'm at high risk for a premature labor- and I do NOT want to go through that again!

If you want to stay updated on me and the baby you can check me out at www.thecradle.com and my username is damonique.

Big and Little Happenings...

My cousin, Whitney, got married yesterday!
I am so happy for her, things are really working out for them- it's a blessing.
She is now Mrs. Brady Raphael :)
I took Goomer out for Chinese awhile back. :)
On the way we saw a rainbow...
And I think I already did a post on Sabine's prom or at least put pics up on my facebook...
The peacock dress she wore inspired me and I made some Peacock shoes you can find on my Etsy shop!

My Craft Show!

Here I am! At my first craft show ever!
I shared a booth with Andrea (Sacred Suds). She was awesome and her soaps smelled delicious!
We also had Round Bottom Baby at the show- she had the cutest kids ties! (ps. all the artists at this show can be found on Etsy)
Chickadeesigns had the coolest resin pendants and by the end of the day I couldn't resist! I had to buy one! I got one of Betty Boop on the couch with a guy (does anyone remeber his name? the blond guy?) lol and he's all like, Hey baby! and Betty's all like Oh come on! It's hilarious!

There were so many great artists at the show- 48 total- I didn't even get a chance to see them all!

I took notes through out the show to make improvements for the next show and decided I need to get at least 75 items up in my online shop! Ambitious I know but totally doable!
Jenny Bunny was so fun! I really enjoyed meeting all of you!
And here is the lady that made my first sale! Wearing one of my original headbands!
I wish I had gottan a picture of my second sale- it was the blue top with white flowers- this girl was so perfect for it, petit with long curly brown hair- so adorable! lol and that was all I got for sales!

My Fashion Line

My craft show is this Saturday and I am rushing to get everything done!
The other night I started playing around putting together outfits on my manequin- seeing what works and what doesn't, deciding what to put on display, etc etc
And I have to say I ended up very impressed with myself!
My pieces go so well with each other! It was invigorating! I felt that satisfaction of a job well done (I did it! I did it! yeah yeah yeah!)
I think I have put together a great collection and I have high hopes for my first show! :)
My line is made from all recycled material and yet it's fashionable, fun, and girly romantic.
I started sewing last June and the last ten months have been an incredible! I found my passion and this is just the beginning!
I am so excited to start making new items and find a couple more shows to participate in this year!
I know that this year is going to be Fantastic! I have been waiting to do craft shows since I was a little girl and now my dreams are coming true...
It's almost like a fairy tale :)
Course in this tale, it's filled with heaping piles of discarded garments and fabrics that are lovingly transformed into beautiful and fashionable clothing and accessories! lol
It's a good thing I already got Prince Charming hooked...
Course, he is complaining that I need to start branching out to men's fashions...
I will, in good time...
You all just wait and see, I'll be famous someday...
Or at least be self-employed and run my own shop! That's what I really want...
I've dreamed about trying out for Project Runway (god that would be so fun!) But I don't think that lifestyle that would come with it would be suitable for me!
I'm just a very fashionable country girl! lol

Best Book Ever!

I am thoroughly enjoying reading this series. Douglas Adams is a genius. I originally started reading the first book outloud with my husband while I was pregnant. I am so excited now to own the whole trilogy!
Here's a tiny insert to give you an idea of how incredibly great this book is:
"All right," said Ford, "forget that. I mean... I mean, look, do you know- do you know how the Universe actually began for a kick off?"
"Probably not," said Arthur, who wished he'd never embarkedon any of this.
"All right," said Ford. "imagine this. Right. You get this bath. Right. A large round bath. And it's made of ebony."
"Where from?" said Arthur. "Harrods was destroyed by the Vogons."
"Doesn't matter."
"So you keep saying."
"Listen."
"All right."
"You get this bath, see? Imagine you've got this bath. And it's ebony. And it's conical."
"Conical?" said Arthur. "What sort of..."
"Shhh!" said Ford. "It's conical. So what you do is, you see, you fill it with white sand, all right? Or sugar. Fine white sand, and/or sugar. Anything. Doesn't matter. Sugar's fine. And when it's full, you pull the plug out... are you listening?"
"I'm listening."
"You pull the plug out, and it all just twirls away, twirls away you see, out of the plughole."
"I see."
"You don't see. You don't see at all. I haven't got to the clever bit yet. You want to hear the clever bit?"
"Tell me the clever bit."
"I'll tell you the clever bit."
Ford thought for a moment, trying to remember what the clever bit was.
"The clever bit," he said, "is this. You film it happening."
"Clever," agreed Arthur.
"You get a movie camera, and you film is happening."
"Clever."
"That's not the clever bit. This is the clever bit, I remember now that this is the clever bit. The clever bit is that you then thread the film in the projector... backward!"
"Backward?"
"Yes. Threading it backward is definitely the clever bit. So then, you just sit and watch it, and everything just appears to spiral upward out of the plughole and fill the bath. See?"
"And that's how the Universe began, is it?" said Arthur.
"No," said Ford, "but it's a marvelous way to relax."

Date Night!

This last Saturday the hubby and I got a much needed date night!
We went out for Chinese, stopped in a little rest stop and had some fun ;)
and then went to see How to Train Your Dragon- so cool!
We were originally going to take the kids to this in 3D but it's a little too scary so we're holding off and waiting for Toy Story 3!

While I was away...

We moved!!
We packed up our entire house (which was no easy task!) We filled an entire 100 sq foot storage unit and still have plenty of crap! I guess I should explain, see we moved in with my in-laws! It's been a great time, they have a huge house and lots and lots of dogs lol
Currently the in-laws are working on making the basement into an apartment for us (it's going to be so cool, I'll get pics) This is my first time living in the country in a much smaller town than I was before. I like it- it's quaint. And the Freedom! Oh man! to RUN around outside, the kids love it! and to not have to lock the doors on my car all the time. Speaking of which I got a new car!
SO I know I haven't been the best blogger lately BUT
I have plenty to blog about! So here are some things to look forward to:

1. My first CRAFT SHOW! Whoo hoo!
2. Easter
3. How to Train Your Dragon
4. Our New Place
5. And all the little things in between

Alice in Underland...

I went to go see Alice In Wonderland in 3D with my girl Brooke!
It was awesome!
I loved loved loved all the outfits Alice wore, it was soo inspiring!
Hopefully, next month, when everything starts to settle down (we moved!) I can get started on some new spring dresses! You can be sure to see a lot of inspiration from this movie!
God, I love Johny Depp! Once again he was incredible... I once told me husband that if he were an actor he would be like Johny Depp- incredibly sexy and able to play any role- the crazier the better! lol

I took one of those stupid quizzes on Facebook, "Which Alice In Wonderland character are you?" and it said, I am the Caterpillar. I am wise and like to lay around smoking the hookah all day... I'd have to say that's pretty close to the truth! ha! except I don't have a hookah :(

I must agree with my sister though, it is only worth going to see in 3D! To expand on that, I am thoroughly convinced it's only worth paying that much to see any movie so long as it's in 3D!

ps. I am so excited to take the kids to Toy Story 3 in 3D! What a hoot that'll be!
